Staff Writer, Cambridge Edition magazine
Local magazine Cambridge Edition is seeking a new editorial team member with fantastic writing skills, a can-do attitude and the confidence to be a great ambassador for the brand. This position presents a chance for the right person to become part of a well-loved magazine, immerse themselves in the community and enjoy a host of perks.
The staff writer will become an integral part of the team from their first day, contributing articles, coming up with ideas and ensuring our digital presence is as entertaining and engaging as possible. They will also work closely with the commercial department to coordinate and assist with client content as needed.
Key responsibilities include
Writing & Research: Formulating ideas, conducting interviews and writing long- and short-form articles. The successful candidate will be a talented writer who can produce fantastic copy with speed and accuracy, and is versatile enough to write on a wide range of topics.
Digital Management: Creating and scheduling content for Cambridge Edition’s social media channels/website, and producing a monthly report detailing the latest digital audience stats. The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of social media platforms and, ideally, knowledge of SEO best practice.
Commercial Content: Working with the sales team to assist with idea generation and client content campaigns, such as social media advertising and advertorials in the printed magazine.
Brand Ambassador: Attending events, such as restaurant openings and client parties, is a perk of the job – and the right candidate will be enthusiastic about this. They will also be expected, on occasion, to join the sales team on meetings with magazine clients to help develop content campaigns.
